In our first decade in business, WALLSabout™ followed in the footsteps of our sister company, Benjamin Walls Gallery – together the WALLS Brands have helped raise or have directly paid over $1.5 million that supports conservation or local communities. Here are a few highlights:

2015 – Benjamin founds WALLSabout™ Luxury Travel with the goal of providing luxury eco-tourism adventures that also support the conservation of our last great wild places and their surrounding communities.

2016 – Benjamin announces 5% of book sales from his coffee table book BEYOND will go to Friends of the Smokies— the leading non-profit supporting the conservation of the Great Smoky Mountains. 

2017 – Benjamin reroutes his signature safaris to include time at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in order to support the conservation of the last Northern White Rhinos and expose travelers to what he calls “one of the most important conservation initiatives of our time.”

2017 – Benjamin establishes a unique series of internal processes for gratuities that ensures guides, porters, servers, and lodge staff are tipped above industry average on all WALLSabout™ trips.

2018 – Benjamin begins service on the Jane Goodall Institute’s Development Committee, a group whose goal is to raise funds to support the ongoing conservation and research of Dr. Goodall and her team.

2018 – WALLSabout™ partners with LEAF Global Arts, becoming the first tour company to support the community initiative known as LEAF Jr. Troupe–– a program that focuses on keeping local Rwandan culture alive through music, dance, and performance. 

2019 – A WALLSabout™ traveler becomes a sponsor of LEAF Jr. Troupe, funding their full annual school tuition and supplies.

2019 – WALLS brands raised over $40,000 for the conservation film Kifaru, funding its global festival tour for the filmmaker and two Kenyan rangers featured in the documentary. The film went on to win numerous awards, including Slamdance, Full Frame, Riverrun, HotDOCS, RainDance, Florida FF, Camden International FF, MountainFilm, and American Documentary FF.

2019 – Benjamin Walls Gallery and WALLSabout™ help raise $90,000 in a single evening for the Jane Goodall Institute by auctioning Benjamin’s art and selling tickets to a fireside chat with Dr. Goodall. More at www.benjaminwalls.com/walls-gallery-raises-90000-for-jane-goodall-institute

2019 – Benjamin establishes the WALLS Wine Bar in Asheville NC. The only wine bar in town that exclusively serves sustainable, organic, or biodynamic wines.

2021 – Non-profit Helping Rhinos auctions Noble by Benjamin Walls in London for $12,200 USD (£10,000) to support rhino conservation at Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

2023 – Benjamin hosts collectors and travelers in private boxed seats in Charleston SC to hear Dr. Jane Goodall speak. Benjamin gives a conservation talk the next day in Kiawah Island. 

2023 – Benjamin Walls Gallery and WALLSabout™ host head rhino caretaker, Zachariah, and development director, Philippa, from Ol Pejeta Conservancy. WALLS clients pledge over $12,000 in donations in exchange for promotional pricing on art and travel.

2023 – Benjamin donates $5,000 to adopt a baby rhino at the Ol Pejeta conservancy, an act that inspires further adoptions by his art and travel clients.

2024 – WALLSabout™ Luxury Travel exceeds the milestone of $300,000 in Gorilla Permit Fees— these fees go directly to the conservation of Volcanoes National Park rewinding initiative, community development, sustainable jobs, and ongoing research. 

 

2024 – Benjamin Walls hosts the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy at the Benjamin Walls Gallery in Bristol, VA as part of their capital campaign, an event where over $1 million was pledged for conservation of the Appalachian Mountains.

2024 – Benjamin donates $6,000 to adopt a second rhino at Ol Pejeta conservancy and further support the rhino he adopted in 2023. 

2024 – In partnership with “1% for Asheville”, Benjamin Walls Gallery & WALLSabout™ donate over $4,000 to the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation to support local post-Hurricane Helene rebuilding efforts. Read more at www.onepercentforasheville.org

2024 – Calling on his community of collectors and travelers, Benjamin Walls campaigns for petition signatures to ban trophy hunting of the Amboseli Super Tuskers.

2025 – WALLSabout has paid ~$1M in park, permit, community, and other fees and  continues to  support conservation, local communities, and sustainable tourism globally.
